The piece serves as a visible lesson on the consequences of equipment failure and reinforces the importance of speaking up, asking questions and taking every precaution to prevent future incidents.

A Lasting Reminder (24th September 2024)

On this day, a catastrophic gearbox failure resulted in life threatening injuries to our Chief Mechanic. A simple bearing failure serves as a permanent reminder to us all in the unforgiving nature of our work environment, to speak up when something isn’t right, to ask questions when we don’t know and do everything within our power to prevent such an event from ever happening again.

Safety is built on the lessons of the past and this must never be forgotten.
